Geographic Feature: Marsden School No. 2


(1938 – 1966) Métis kids from around Metigoshe Lake attended Marsden School No. 2. It became a hall and community centre for the Métis.


(1908 - 1966) Marsden No 1 was attended by the children of European settlers living on the farmland to the north of Turtle Mountain, whereas Marsden No 2 was attended by Metis children living in teh bush around Lake Metigoshe.
The Metis have been permanently settling on Turtle Mountain for over a hundred years.
